In today's fast-paced and ever-changing world, it is vitally important for teachers to be continuously learning and developing their teaching practice. However, not everyone has the time or resources to attend in-person classes or workshops, which can also be cost-intensive for education departments. That's why it was important for VVOB to invest in a platform that provides easy and free access to a variety of courses for teachers to acquire new skills and knowledge. 

The Learning Management Systems (LMS) offers a range of courses and resources that are specifically tailored to meet the needs of educators. These courses cover a broad range of topics such as Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), gender equality in ECD, teacher safety, and guides on New Teacher induction, with new resources added regularly. Courses include videos, interactive activities, downloadable resources and real-life scenarios to help teachers apply what they learn, as well as a Social Learning Platform (SLP) where teachers can exchange ideas, activities, and tips on topics of their interest. 

All the courses on the LMS have been developed with our partners the Department of Basic Education (DBE), and the South African Council of Educators (SACE). Certain of the courses have been SACE endorsed, and carry Continuous Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) points that can be logged on the SACE CPTD self-service portal. 

In this way, by leveraging the power of technology, VVOB and its partners are helping to create a more skilled and effective teaching workforce, in a cost-effective and scalable way.
